Alashan Gobi Agate, or Candy Agate, a variety of chalcedony, is known for its unique textures and colors. A special kind known as “candy agate” is produced in the Alxa Plateau of Inner Mongolia. It is a semi-transparent gemstone found in the Gobi Desert of Alxa League, which spans northern and northwestern China and southern Mongolia, China. Alashan Gobi Agate originates from a crater formed hundreds of millions of years ago and is exclusively produced from the burst of a sub-aquatic volcano in the Gobi Desert. It is then formed by cooling the magma ejected from the volcanic eruption. 

The Alashan region is known for its rich geological history and is home to various mineral deposits, including the agate that is found there. Alashan Gobi Agate is prized for its distinctive patterns and textures, which include bands of brown, red, orange, dark green, yellow, white, and gray, and the texture in each stone is one-of-a-kind and uniquely shaped by nature.
